Atsumi turnips are cultivated the Hitokasumi area at the center. The Atumi turnips are cultivated by traditional slash-and-burn farming. Compared to ordinary turnips,Atsumi turnips contain two to four times as much umami(glutamates).They feature umami,sharpness and a crunchy texture.The turnips are chiefly manufactured for Japanese pickles.
